Great Saints & Kriya Masters
Kriya Yoga is a living current, carried from heart to heart through an unbroken line of God-realised masters.
Kriya Yoga is a living current, carried from heart to heart through an unbroken line of God-realised masters. It reaches us today through two great arms of one tradition — both flowing from the same deathless source, Mahavatar Babaji, and both leading to the same goal: Self-realisation and the soul’s freedom.
The Classical Householder Lineage
From Mahavatar Babaji the lineage flowed through Lahiri Mahasaya and branched into the great teachers who carried Kriya across India and the world:
Mahavatar Babaji
The deathless master of the Himalayas, revered as a Mahavatar, who restored the lost science of Kriya and set it flowing again into the world.
Lahiri Mahasaya
The householder saint whom Babaji initiated in 1861, charged with offering Kriya freely to sincere householders.
Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri
The “incarnation of wisdom,” Lahiri’s great disciple and author of The Holy Science.
Bhupendranath Sanyal Mahashaya
A direct disciple of Lahiri Mahasaya, a revered householder-saint of Bengal.
Paramahansa Yogananda
Who carried Kriya to the West in 1920 and, through his Autobiography of a Yogi, introduced millions to the path.
Swami Satyananda Giri
A brother-disciple under Sri Yukteswar and lifelong friend of Yogananda; a devoted scholar-saint.
Paramahamsa Hariharananda
A realised disciple of Sri Yukteswar who later carried Kriya across the world with a rare depth of stillness.
Paramahamsa Prajnanananda
Disciple and spiritual successor of Paramahamsa Hariharananda, guiding seekers around the world today.
The Second Arm: Kundalini Kriya Yoga
The lineage above is the classical householder arm, most often received through an established organisation and its chain of teachers. The second arm is the Kundalini Kriya Yoga of Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath, who received his transmission directly from the deathless Babaji himself, and is regarded within the lineage as the reincarnation of Sri Yukteswar.
Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath — born in 1944, graced from childhood and later transformed by a vision of Mahavatar Babaji — teaches Kundalini Kriya Yoga and the mission of Earth Peace through Self Peace. It is this lineage from which Hamsa Info draws.
Realised Saints Beyond the Lineage
The light of God-realisation is not confined to one lineage. These beloved saints, though outside the direct Kriya line, shine with the same divine truth and have blessed countless seekers on the path.
Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa
The God-intoxicated saint who proved through his own life that “as many faiths, so many paths.”
Lord Krishna
The divine charioteer and teacher of the Bhagavad Gita.
Anandamayi Ma
The “Bliss-Permeated Mother,” revered as a living incarnation of the Divine Mother.
Neem Karoli Baba
The beloved Maharaj-ji of Kainchi Dham, revered as the most recent incarnation of Hanuman.
